Norbrygg is a nationwide and non-profit organisation for everyone interested in home brewing and beer judging.
We were founded in 1998, and have around 4 000 members across Norway.
The purposes of Norbrygg are:
- to promote the interest in home brewing and to preserve the cultural heritage that Norwegian brewing traditions represent.
- to work for a responsible beer culture that contributes to reducing the negative consequences of alcohol consumption.
- to ensure a high professional level among members by organising competitions, education, meetings, and social activities.
Local member activities include homebrew tastings, off-flavour courses, homebrewing competitions, beer festivals (50-1000 attendees), advent calendars, presentations, online courses, brewery visits, beer judge training and examination, social gatherings, etc.
On national level we host the annual national homebrewing championship, co-host the Nordic championship, educate and train beer judges, maintain beer style guidelines and host our popular online forum.
